Last year, I created the “Who to Watch” list, which spotlighted 16 creatives or entrepreneurs from Reading, PA. In honor of the new list approaching, I followed up with the 2018 class to see what they’ve done since we started watching them.
How has your company/ brand/ you grown?
My business has grown a lot this past year! I painted another cover for David Kline’s book, Guidespeak. I also had my first public art show in June at the West Reading Art on the Ave which meant a lot to me since I usually showcase my paintings at spiritual/holistic events. My business has increased along with my confidence as a psychic artist. I’m more comfortable with who I am as an artist and as a person in general. This past year I’ve grown into my spirituality more which has helped me paint deeper and more meaningful paintings for people.
What did you accomplish this year?
I accomplished more than I originally thought I would! I’ve completed more paintings and like I previously stated I did my first public art show in June which was a big step out of my comfort zone. My first book cover I did for David Kline was published in Natural Awakenings magazine which was awesome to see!
What is the biggest lesson you learned?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is be true to yourself and honor your truth no matter what. My best paintings have been the ones where I just completely let go and allowed everything to flow no matter how much I worried what other people might think or feel about my paintings. Not everyone is going to understand or accept who you are and you have to be okay with that!
Has your “why” changed?
My 2017 Why is still my Why today and then some. If there’s anything I could add to my why at this moment is to leave an amazing legacy behind that will continue to help others on their journey to self love even after I’m gone. I’m not about living to pay bills. I’m here for a reason and I want to make the biggest impact possible even if it’s just inspiring others to chase their dreams and do what sets their soul on fire!
What’s next for 2019?
What’s next for 2019? I would say big things for sure! Bigger and deeper paintings! Collaborations with other entrepreneurs and doing paintings for other personal growth and healing programs! This year for me has been filled with amazing surprises and I expect the same for 2019!
